Guard Luka Doncic was unavailable to play in the Dallas Mavericks’ 144-115 loss to the Chicago Bulls at the United Center on Saturday night after incurring a right quadriceps strain.
Dallas struggled without the 23-year-old star in their ranks as the Bulls delivered their greatest offensive output of the season. DeMar DeRozan grabbed 28 points and nine rebounds, while Nikola Vucevic scored 20 points and racked up eight rebounds. The Bulls shot a season-high 63.5% in to grab their second straight victory.
Doncic initially felt quad pain during the Mavericks’ narrow 106-105 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night, during which he grabbed 33 points, 11 assists, and six rebounds. The Slovenian had to leave the court after 37 minutes as a result.
Joining Doncic on the sidelines is forward Maxi Kleber, who is struggling with right foot soreness, and guard Josh Green, who is recovering from a right elbow sprain. Both players appeared alongside Doncic in Friday’s loss before being ruled out of Saturday’s game.
At present, the Mavericks find themselves in 10th position on the Western Conference standings. They next face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night as they look to overturn a two-game losing streak.
