The Miami Dolphins’ star wideout Tyreek Hill is the best NFL player in 2024, at least according to his peers.
The league recently shared its annual Top 100 list, which includes the best players for the current year as voted by NFL players. Hill is the first wide receiver to take the top spot since the NFL started producing the list 14 years ago. He is also only the fourth non-quarterback to be No. 1, following Adrian Peterson, J.J. Watt, and Aaron Donald.
Hill’s selection caused some stir on social media, with many fans believing there were more deserving players for the honor, including his former teammate and Kansas City Chiefs’ superstar signal-caller Patrick Mahomes. In Hill’s defense, he is coming off a memorable campaign.
In the 2023 regular season, Hill tied his career-high 119 receptions for a career-best 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns. However, he was underwhelming in the postseason, grabbing just five catches for 62 yards and a TD as the Dolphins folded in the first round.
Hill is followed by the reigning MVP, Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback Lamar Jackson, at No. 2 and San Francisco 49ers’ running back Christian McCaffrey at No. 3. Mahomes, who led the Chiefs to yet another Super Bowl title and is widely considered the best player in NFL, came in at No. 4 while Cleveland Browns’ pass rusher Myles Garett rounded up the Top 5.
