The Miami Dolphins preseason clash with the Jacksonville Jaguars came to a premature halt with eight minutes and 32 seconds left on the clock after Dolphins’ receiver Daewood Davis went down after taking a hit from Jaguars linebacker Dequan Jackson. After being immobilized on a backboard, Davis was carted off the field. The Jaguars were leading 31-18 when the game was called.

“Obviously, not anything you want to see,” Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence commented. “Obviously, a tough scene. The game we all love to play and to see a guy go down like that … I know we’re all thinking about [him].”

Later on Saturday, the Dolphins posted an update on social media stating that Davis had been transported to the Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville for further treatment. The team added that Davis was conscious and that he expressed movement in all his extremities.
