Devin Booker has been ruled out of the Phoenix Suns’ first home game of the season against the Utah Jazz on Sunday after he suffered an ankle injury. This comes after new Suns guard Bradley Beal had already been ruled out of the game due to a back injury, pushing his debut for the Suns further back.

Booker’s absence will be sorely felt by the Suns, having averaged 32 points last season as well as 24 points over his first nine seasons in the NBA. All of his 531 games and 506 starts have been with the Suns.

The clash with the Jazz is the second consecutive game that Booker will miss after he scored 32 points in the Suns’ season-opening 108-104 victory against the Golden State Warriors. Phoenix struggled in their subsequent game without Booker, falling to a 100-95 loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers.
