Veteran defensive end Trent Cole will say his goodbye to NFL as a member of Philadelphia Eagles. Cole will retire on Christmas night, in the game against the Oakland Raiders, while serving as an honorary alumni captain, the team announced on Friday.

As a person playing ball, I’ll never be satisfied,” – said Cole for the Eagles’ official website. “I’m going to move on to the next thing. It was a great career, but it just doesn’t stop there. Being successful is never going to stop me. I’m not going to stop being successful. I’m going to go on to the next thing and try to be successful.

The next thing for Cole is hunting. He is currently the co-host of the outdoor hunting show Blitz TV outfitted by Cabela’s which airs on the Hunting Channel, Destination America, and the Pursuit Channel.

We pretty much educate the viewers in different things and a lot of them can relate and we want them to relate,” – said Cole about the show. “That’s how we built this show, so people can relate. It helps them out with what they’re doing out on the field and try to help them be successful, as well.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected Trent Cole in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft, and he immediately made an impact with 5 sacks in just 3 starts. He was a member of the Eagles until 2015, leaving the franchise with 85.5 sacks, second-most in the Eagles’ history. He spent two years with the Indianapolis Colts, before leaving them at the end of 2016 season. His career statistics include 617 tackles, 90.5 sacks, 21 forced fumbles, one defensive touchdown and one interception.
