Danny Jansen has made history by becoming the first player in the MLB to ever play for two teams in the exact same match. In fact, he played for both teams in the same innings.

A Toronto Blue Jays player at the start of the match, Jansen was representing his team at the batting plate against the Boston Red Sox when rain interrupted the match. The next day, Jansen was traded to the Red Sox, with the game yet to resume. Once play resumed, Jansen was playing at catcher for the Red Sox.

“I was surprised when I found out I was the first one to do it,” Jansen said of his unique record. “It’s cool, leaving a stamp like that on the game. It’s interesting, and it’s strange. And I’m grateful for the opportunity to have that.” The 29-year-old went 1-for-4 for Boston, with the Blue Jays emerging victorious at 4-1.
