The Dallas Cowboys have decided to activate the fifth-year option for wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, keeping him in Dallas for the 2024 season. The Cowboys made the decision on Thursday, just two weeks before a decision had to be made.

Lamb, the team’s first-round pick in 2020, will earn a salary of $17.99 million in 2024. After being selected for the Pro Bowl, his option salary has become higher than his previous four seasons due to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

Last season proved to be a standout season for Lamb, achieving career highs in receptions (107), yards (1,359), and touchdowns (9). This was Lamb’s first season as the Cowboys’ lead receiver following the trade of Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns.

During the first three seasons of his career, Lamb proved himself as a key Cowboys player, attaining the most receptions in the first three years of a career in Cowboys’ history with 260. He also reached 10 100-yard receiving games, trailing only Hall of Famer Bob Hayes (13) for the most in the first three seasons of any Cowboys player’s career.
