Portuguese star forward Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t seem to be thinking about retirement as he approaches his 40th birthday. With his contract with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr coming to an end in the summer, Ronaldo reportedly already started to plot his next move.

Spanish media outlet Marca reports that Ronaldo is “open to new challenges” if he and Al Nassr can’t agree to a new deal soon.  He can start negotiating with clubs outside the Saudi Pro League on January 1.

Ronaldo’s main goal at the moment is winning the Saudi Pro League title, something that has eluded him since he joined Al Nassr in January 2023. However, this seems unlikely to happen this season, considering that his club is currently sitting fourth in the standings with 11 points behind leaders Al-Ittihad. He is also pursuing 1,000 career goals and needs 84 more goals to reach the mark.

If Cristiano Ronaldo decides to move on, it would be interesting to see where his next destination could be. Most recently, Turkish side Fenerbahce was mentioned to have interest in Ronaldo, with the club’s head coach Jose Mourinho reportedly being eager to team up with his compatriot.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing on a high level in 2024-25, scoring 16 goals and adding three assists in 19 games.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
