Portugal and Al Nassr star forward Cristiano Ronaldo spoke on a number of occasions about his wish to reach 1,000 career goals. However, it appears that Ronaldo isn’t convinced anymore that he’ll have enough time to reach the elusive mark.

Ronaldo, who will turn 40 in February, is currently at 908 career goals with club and national team. He has one more year left on his contract with Al Nassr, and it is unclear whether he intends to play past it.

“I now face my life living in the moment. I can’t think long-term anymore,” Ronaldo said in a chat with reporters on Wednesday. “I can no longer think about what I said publicly that I wanted to reach 1,000 goals. “

Ronaldo, widely considered one of the best players in soccer history, is already recognized as the player with the most goals in the history of the sport. He scored 775 on the club level and 133 with Portugal’s national team, the most ever in both categories as well.

“One thousand goals is great, but if it doesn’t come, I’m already the player in history with the most goals, “Ronaldo added.

Ronaldo has been in form this season, scoring 10 goals in 15 matches with Al Nassr.  He also has five goals at the international level.

Ben loves sports so much but prefers watching other people do it. He prefers not to share what teams he's supporting but he is willing to admit that Lebron James is, in fact, the king.
