The Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is reportedly dealing with a minor foot sprain. However, the issue isn’t expected to “affect his preparation for 2024”, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Prescott was initially spotted in a walking boot on his right foot earlier this week while vacationing in Mexico. Apparently, he was dealing with a sprain for a few days prior to that.

It is unclear how Prescott suffered the injury. However, according to a later report by ESPN’s Todd Archer, Prescott is no longer wearing the walking boot and is expected to be a full participant in Dallas’ first practice for training camp on July 25.

Back in 2020, Prescott suffered a dislocation and fracture to his right ankle and was required to undergo surgery that ended his season. He returned to action in time for the 2021 campaign and hasn’t experienced issues with his right ankle since.

Prescott is currently looking to get a new contract from the Cowboys, although the negotiations between the two sides have reportedly stalled in recent weeks. The three-time Pro Bowler is coming off one of his best seasons as a pro, having completed a career-high 69.5% of his passes in 2023 while throwing for 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns, and nine picks.
