Despite being Dallas Cowboys’ first-round pick just two years ago, defensive end Taco Charlton found himself not playing at all so far in 2019. Charlton was listed inactive for the first two games and it seems like his status won’t change anytime soon considering the way Cowboys’ defense is playing. So the recent news that he wants out of Dallas isn’t surprising for anyone.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Charlton expressed his displeasure to the team and told them to trade him if they won’t play him. Cowboys took the first option Rapoport reports; have been discussing trade options for the 24-year-old pass rusher with several NFL teams.

Charlton, who also asked for a trade during the offseason, went on social media on Monday and made his desire to get to another team public.

Cowboys took Taco Charlton 28th overall in 2017, and he ended up having a promising rookie year in which he recorded 19 tackles, 3.0 sacks, one forced fumble, and one pass deflection.  Although Charlton was expected to have a big leap in his sophomore season, he underperformed and finished 2018 with 27 tackles and 1.0 sacks despite playing 11 games and making seven starts.

It’s unclear what price Cowboys are asking for Charlton, but considering his early career struggles, the best they can hope is a late-round draft pick.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
