The Dallas Cowboys had one of the best offensive lines in the NFL in recent years, and the franchise intends to keep it that way. The Cowboys just announced that they have signed their right tackle Terence Steele to a new five-year extension.

The Cowboys revealed that Steele’s extension is worth $86.8 million and comes with $50 million in guarantees. The average salary of $17.3 million per year places him in the top 10 of the highest-paid right tackles in the league.

Steele arrived in Dallas as an undrafted free agent signing in 2020 following five years of college football at Texas Tech. He ended up winning the starting right tackle job in his rookie season and has never let go of it since.

Steele started 13 games during the 2022 campaign before going down with ACL and MCL tears in his left knee. The 26-year-old has been limited in practice during training camp but is expected to be ready for Week 1.

By signing Steele to a new contract, the Cowboys continued their spending spree in 2023. The team previously signed corner Trevon Diggs and safety Malik Hooker to extensions while giving their right guard Zack Martin a new deal as well. They also reportedly plan to lock wideout CeeDee Lamb to an extension at some point this year.
