Dallas Cowboys are stocking in on wide receivers having signed veteran WR Brice Butler on Tuesday. Butler, who was released by Arizona Cardinals in early September, already played for Cowboys from 2015 to 2017. He now joins as a seventh wide receiver on the team.
The team also announced that they had released rookie safety Tyree Robinson in order to free up the roster spot.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett discussed the team’s intentions to sign Butler as a seventh WR on Monday, saying that the team wants to have a bit more depth on the position.
“Just to be deeper there. If he’s available, he’s someone we like. He’s done some good things for us.” – said Garrett.
Cowboys’ other six receivers are Cole Beasley, Allen Hurns, Deonte Thompson, Terrance Williams, Tavon Austin, and Michael Gallup.
Brice Butler started his NFL career in 2013 after the Oakland Raiders took him in the seventh round of that year’s draft. He played 25 games for the Raiders in two years, before being traded to the Cowboys in 2015. In three season with Dallas, Butler had 43 catches for 794 yards and six touchdowns. He signed a two year deal with the Arizona Cardinals in March, but the team decided to cut him.
