Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte told reporters on Friday that while he is happy with the squad he currently has, he will be open to adding new additions in the January transfer window should the right opportunity present itself.

“If there is the opportunity to strengthen the squad, we’ll do something. You know what is our politics and we try to follow these politics and to improve the team,” Conte confirmed to the press. “The politics is about young players with not big salaries. We have to sign players that they can stay in our vision of the club here.”

In addition to confirming his intentions leading in the transfer window, Conte also delivered team news ahead of Tottenham’s upcoming Premier League fixture against Brentford on Monday night. He revealed that Fraser Foster would start in goal ahead of Hugo Lloris, who recently returned from the World Cup where he led France to the final last Sunday.

According to Conte, it is important to provide some of the World Cup participants with some rest before they are reintroduced to the busy season schedule. Richarlison, who scored the goal of the tournament at the World Cup, will also be rested as recovers from a hamstring injury.
