The Washington Commanders and their star wideout Terry McLaurin reportedly came to an extension agreement. According to multiple reports, McLaurin inked a three-year deal that is reportedly worth more than $70 million.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that McLaurin will receive $28 million in signing bonus, which is the most ever given to a wide receiver. He also gets the majority of his contract guaranteed, and the yearly salary of $23.3 makes him one of the best-paid players on his position.

The 26-year-old was entering the final year of his rookie deal in 2022 with a base salary of $2.79 million. He is now under contract with the Commanders through 2022.

Terry McLaurin emerged as the top offensive weapon for Washington ever since he was selected with the third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. After 919 receiving yards and seven touchdowns rookie year, McLaurin had more than 1,000+ yards in each of the following two seasons. This was despite not having a star quarterback to throw him the ball.

McLaurin follows Pro Bowlers AJ Brown and Hunter Renfrow as members of the 2019 wideout class who received big-money extensions this offseason. Several more are waiting to do the same, including Deebo Samuel and DK Metcalf.
