It appears that veteran quarterback Phillip Rivers already managed to make a connection with Indianapolis Colts’ receiving core despite only joining the franchise several months ago. He especially made a mark on T.Y. Hilton, who believes that Colts now have “a perfect match” on the WR-QB positions.

Speaking about his experiences with Rivers during training camp, Hilton told reporters that he and Rivers managed to gel immediately.

“We had a couple throwing sessions where we felt out one another. Right now, we’re just working hand in hand. He likes throwing to soft spots and I like finding the soft spots. In reality, we’re kind of like a perfect match,” said Hilton. “As long as he continues to do that, find the soft spots in the defense and he’s able to get it to me, get it into my hands and let me work, the sky is the limit for us.”

Hilton had a career-bad year in 2019, managing to get only 45 receptions for 501 yards as he struggled with injuries. But the 30-year-old expects a bounce-back campaign this season and hopes early connection with Rivers will help him achieve that.

“We are still getting better, we’re still working,” he added. “The more you get it in my hands, the more I get it—I’m able to work. That’s the one thing we’ve learned about each other.”

T.Y. Hilton has been a consistent performer for Colts ever since he entered the league in 2012 as a third-round pick. He racked up 1,000+ yards and 5+ touchdowns in five seasons while earning four Pro Bowl nods.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
