Most NFL fans have always wondered how HBO’s iconic show Hard Knocks would look like if it took place in-season instead of covering the arguably less eventful preseason. Well, we’re about to find out.

HBO and NFL Films just announced that they would team up for the first-ever in-season Hard Knocks this year. The series will center on the Indianapolis Colts and is set to cover the team during the second part of the 2021 season.

The show will premiere on November 17th, with new episodes arriving each Wednesday until the Colts wrap up their campaign. This means that Hard Knocks could even contain some playoff action n case Indianapolis makes the postseason.

“We could not be more thrilled to bring Hard Knocks and the remarkable behind-the-scenes access it provides for the entirety of an NFL season,” said NFL Films senior executive Ross Ketover. “Thanks to HBO, along with the incredible cooperation from the Colts, we are able to deliver a groundbreaking new edition of the series.”

This will be the first time the Indianapolis Colts are the subject of Hard Knocks, which aired its 16th season earlier this summer.

The show premiered in 2001, following the Baltimore Ravens throughout their training camp and preseason and giving the fans unprecedented insight into how NFL franchises operate. The formula proved to be successful, and the series has gained a cult following since then.

The Dallas Cowboys were the most recent team to be featured on Hard Knocks.
