Running back Marlon Mack’s time with the Indianapolis Colts has reportedly come to an end. According to multiple reports, the Colts are shopping Mack around the league, and the player isn’t opposed to this scenario.

Mack didn’t find much playing time in 2021, managing only five carries for 16 yards through the first three weeks. Things aren’t expected to get better for the 25-year-old running back as the Colts season progresses, prompting a mutual agreement between the two sides to go their separate ways.

The Colts are currently committed to Jonathan Taylor as their leading runner after the 2020 second-rounder had an impressive rookie season that saw him rush for 1,169 yards and 11 touchdowns. Meanwhile, fourth-year player Nyheim Hines is firmly slotted at the No. 2 spot on the depth chart, especially since inking a three-year, $18.6 million contract extension earlier this month.

Marlon Mack was Indianapolis’ number one option back when entering the 2020 NFL season but suffered a torn Achilles in Week 1 of the 2020 season that sidelined him for the remainder of the season. Mack re-signed with the Colts in March and recovered in time to play this year but found a very different landscape upon his return.

In his four years as a Colt, Mack rushed for 2,383 yards and 20 TDs. He also has 55 catches for 440 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
