Clippers Reveal Name of New Arena

The Los Angeles Clippers announced the name of their new arena on Friday. The Intuit Dome, which is currently under construction, has been developed using $1.8 billion in private funds.

The Intuit Dome, which is due to open in 2024, will house a practice facility, team offices for both business and basketball operations, and retail space.

Some of the arena’s features that have generated much media buzz include the huge halo screen that will hover over the court, 44,000 square feet of LED lighting, and intuitively designed bathrooms that are expected to help fans get back to the action on the court as soon as possible.

Just some of the sources that inspired the design of the arena include numerous German soccer stadiums, NFL and other NBA stadiums, and Amazon Go checkout-free convenience stores.

During an interview with the Associated Press, Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer described the Intuit Dome as a “basketball mecca”.

Ballmer also explained that fans’ comfort has been viewed as a priority during the stadium’s construction. “We treated the upper bowl like the lower bowl. Nobody gets a bad seat, no matter where you sit in the building.”
