The United States’ men’s national team’s biggest star got exciting news on Wednesday, learning that he will wear the celebrated #10 jersey for Chelsea FC this season.

Pulisic joined Chelsea last summer for a $76 million fee from Borussia Dortmund, making him the most expensive American signing in soccer history.

His first season in London at the age of 21 went well, as the winger scored 9 goals and recorded 6 assists in just 25 Premier League appearances. Pulisic established himself as one of the top young stars in Europe, turning heads as he rocketed past defenders to make his mark on England.

He was a key part of the successful first season for Frank Lampard as Chelsea’s coach, helping the team to a fourth-place Premier League finish and Champions League qualification.

Following the summer departure of Willian, who moved from Chelsea to Arsenal, Pulisic was chosen to take on the #10 shirt and will be expected to be one of Chelsea’s key players in their Premier League and Champions League campaigns.

Pulisic will make his debut for Chelsea with the #10 shirt this weekend as his team opens their Premier League campaign on the road at Brighton & Hove Albion.
