Chris Gayle says he has nothing left to prove following century

Veteran batsman Chris Gayle has said that he has nothing left to prove after scoring the first century of this seasons Indian Premier League to help guide the Kings Xi Punjab to victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The 38-year-old Gayle who is widely considered as being one of the most impressive T20 cricketers of all time struck an unbeaten 104 which consisted of 11 sixes as well as one four.

“A lot of people thought I’m too old. After this innings, I have nothing to prove,” Gayle said.

Gayle surprisingly struggled to find a club ahead of this seasons IPL and was only purchased during the third round of bidding for just $314 000.

The ton was the sixth of Gayle’s IPL career and 21st in T20 cricket.

This seasons is the IPL’s 11th with 60 matches over 51 days. There are eight million dollars.
