Kansas City Chiefs are the latest team that will try to help defensive end Taco Charlton to resurrect his NFL career. According to NFL Network, Charlton agreed to a one-year deal with the reigning Super Bowl Champions on Saturday.

Charlton, who was the first-round pick in 2018, became a free agent last month after he was released by Miami Dolphins. Chiefs will be the third franchise he dresses up in less than a year.

Taco Charlton started the 2019 season with Dallas Cowboys, spending the first two weeks on the inactive list before being released. Charlton was later claimed off waiver by Dolphins and went on to play in 10 games, contributing with 21 tackles, 5.0 sacks, and two forced fumbles.

However, despite putting up his most productive season as a pro, Charlton couldn’t keep his roster spot in Miami. Dolphins made several key additions on defense via free agency and draft and decided not to gamble with Charlton’s inconsistency.

The move might turn out to be better for the player, as Charlton now has the best opportunity to get his career back on track. While he will probably wait for his opportunity behind Frank Clark and Alex Okafor, he will now play under the future Hall of Fame coach in Andy Reid, who is known for going the extra mile in order to get the best out of his players.
