After nearly a quarter of a century as part of the Chicago Bulls, the team has decided to part ways with long-time general manager Gar Forman after a disappointing stretch of seasons.

Forman had spent the past ten seasons as the general manager of the team, starting off with an impressive run of playoff appearances. He was named the NBA Executive Season of the year in 2011.

However, recent years haven’t been so kind to the franchise. The Bulls haven’t had a winning record since the 2015-16 season, and have not won a playoff series since spring 2015.

This move followed Chicago’s announcement that they had hired former Nuggets general manager Arturas Karnisovas as executive vice president of basketball operations last week.

Karnisovas mentioned in a press conference that it was clear that he and Forman had “different philosophies” on how the team should move forward, which led to the former GM’s dismissal.

Now, Karnisovas and Bulls ownership will go through an extensive hiring and interview process in order to find the team’s next general manager, a position that entails lots of responsibility when it moves to financial and roster moves.

According to Karnisovas, “I’m going to do my comprehensive evaluation of every department and ensure that I give time.”

I am passionate about sports, travel, and food. I’ve visited over 20 different countries, have seen 6 professional sports leagues in person, and have a love for cuisine.
