The UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for the 2021-22 season are set. The draw took place on Friday and brought us several exciting matchups, including the duel between the reigning champs Chelsea and 13-time winners Real Madrid.

This year’s favorites Manchester City have been handed a tough challenge as well and will have to face the gritty Atletico Madrid team. Atletico already faced one Manchester team in the knockout stage, eliminating City’s rivals Manchester United in the Round of 16.

The two remaining trophy contenders, Bayern Munich and Liverpool, will have an easier task, at least on paper. Bayern will play Villareal while Liverpool faces the Portuguese side Benfica.

The remainder of the UEFA Champions League tournament for the 2021-22 season will play out in the form of a bracket, meaning that we already know the potential semifinals pairs. On one side of the bracket, the winner of the Liverpool/Benfica matchup will play the winner of the Villareal/Bayern Munich matchup. The other side will see the Chelsea/Real Madrid winner facing the winner between Man City and Atletico.

The first-leg quarter-finals matches will be played on April 5 and April 6. Second-leg games are scheduled for April 12 and April 13. After two weeks break, the UEFA Champions League will resume with the first leg of the semifinals on April 26 and April 27. The second leg of the semifinals is scheduled for May 3 and May 4.
