Chelsea looks likely to move on to the next round of the Europa League after they scrapped out a 0-1 win at Slavia Prague on Thursday night.

It’ll be tough for the Czech side to advance past Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next Thursday in the second leg of the quarter-final matchup.

Chelsea didn’t have an easy time, nonetheless, against what was widely considered to be the weakest team left in this stage of the tournament.

Chelsea and Slavia Prague played a relatively even game in terms of ball possession and chances created. Chelsea only held the ball for 57% of the game and created 7 chances in comparison to Slavia’s 6.

However, Chelsea escaped with a win in the 86th minute of the game after scoring their first goal.

Willian provides a perfect cross to Marcos Alonso, who charges into Slavia’s penalty area unmarked. The Spaniard headed in the cross past the Slavia goalkeeper and goalkeeper and gave Chelsea the win.

Now, Chelsea and Slavia Prague will meet again next Thursday night in London. Chelsea will be big favorites to take care of business and move onto the semi-finals of the European competition.
