Premier League side Chelsea has continued its January spending spree by completing the transfer of Noni Madueke from Eredivisie club PSV, the club confirmed on Friday. The 20-year-old player signed a seven-and-a-half-year contract with the club with a club option to extend for an additional year. The transfer fee is reported to be around €35 million ($38m).

“I’m really pleased to sign with one of the best clubs in the world in Chelsea,” Madueke exclaimed following the announcement of his arrival. “To return to England and play in the Premier League is a dream for me and my family and I can’t wait to get started. I am excited for what the future holds, the owner’s vision for the future and to be at a club like this and winning at the highest level.”

A youth player for both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, Madueke joined PSV’s youth team in 2018. Since making his senior team debut in 2020, the winger has scored 20 goals and provided 14 assists in 80 appearances for the Dutch club.

Prior to Madueke’s transfer, the Blues already signed Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix during the current January transfer window.
