The United States international Christian Pulisic is on the move. The 20-year-old USMNT and Borussia Dortmund star was just picked up by Premier League giants Chelsea, who paid around $72.5 million for his services. Pulisic won’t head to London right away, however, and will remain with Dortmund until the end of 2018-19 Bundesliga season as part of the deal.

The move was confirmed by both sides on their official social media.

“We are delighted to have signed one of Europe’s most sought-after young players,” – said Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia. “Christian has shown his quality during a fantastic spell in Germany, and at just 20, we believe he has the potential to become an important Chelsea player for many years to come. We look forward to welcoming him to Stamford Bridge in the summer and wish him and Dortmund every success for the remainder of the season.”

According to ESPN FC, Chelsea was interested in Christian Pulisic for some time now and made several bids that were rejected by Borussia. However, after the player said he isn’t keen on signing a contract extension with the club, Dortmund had to start considering offers for him. Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich were all interested, but Chelsea ended up winning the battle for the talented winger.

“In summer of 2019, I move on to Chelsea and to a new competition, the English Premier League,” – said Pulisic in a statement. “It’s a privilege to have signed for such a legendary club and I look forward to working hard towards being a contributor to their team of world class players.”

During his time with Borussia Dortmund, Christian Pulisic made 115 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 15 goals and providing 24 assists.
