The Blues managed to squeeze past a resolute Norwich City side in what was a close 3-2 victory. This was the Blues’ first win of the new season, after what has been a slow start for Frank Lampard’s side.
From the first whistle, the newly-promoted Norwich exhibited their attacking intent, however, it would be favorites Chelsea who would open the scoring through a Tammy Abraham goal in the third minute. The Canaries did not allow this to dampen their spirits, however, as just moments later they equalized through a Todd Cantwell tap in.
The visiting Blues started to apply pressure in the Norwich City box soon after and were rewarded for their efforts as Mason Mount rocketed the ball into the back of the net in the 17th minute.
With pressure mounting, the Canaries found themselves subdued by a spurt of Chelsea dominance, however, they soon managed to rise from the ashes yet again to level the scoring once again, this time through a Teemu Pukki goal that took the Finnish striker to the top of the Premier League scorers’ charts with five goals.
Soon enough, Chelsea proved why they were favorites, dominating proceedings in the second half. After taking a massive 23 shots, the Blues sealed the win through a second Tammy Abraham goal after 68 minutes.
