The Los Angeles Chargers fans can take a breather. Their star quarterback Justin Herbert has put his foot injury behind him and says he is feeling “100% ready” for the Week 1 clash against the Los Angeles Raiders.

Herbert suffered a plantar fascia injury in his right foot during training camp and was forced to miss out on almost three weeks of action while also sporting a walking boot for the major part of that period.

Speaking with reporters earlier this week, Herbert said that he feels completely fine now, with his recent practice performances, in which he looked impressive, proving that.

“It was just one of those things that I went in; it was getting a little sore, and I talked to [the training staff] about it,” Herbert shared. “I think over the past couple weeks of being out, I did my best to pick up as much as I could in meetings, be out there in walk-throughs, and do everything I could to not miss a rep. It’s definitely tough.”

Herbert added that he doesn’t believe the injury will cause some hindrance throughout the season, although he reiterated the need to be “out in front of it” in collaboration with the Chargers’ fitness staff.

Injuries have been the story of Justin Herbert’s 2023 season, which turned out to be his worst as a pro. He managed to play only 13 games, going 5-8, while completing 65.1% of his passes for 3,134 yards and 20 touchdowns, all career-lows.

With injuries behind him, Herbert will now hope to regain his status as one of the most exciting signal-callers in the NFL and help his new head coach, Jim Harbaugh, to get a great start to his time with the franchise.

Ben loves sports so much but prefers watching other people do it. He prefers not to share what teams he's supporting but he is willing to admit that Lebron James is, in fact, the king.
