Los Angeles Chargers finally received some good news. Chargers’ left tackle Russell Okung has recovered from a pulmonary embolism, which prevented him from playing in 2019, and will be one the team’s roster for Week 7 game against Tennessee Titans.

Okung confirmed the news on social media, posting a statement in which he said he is returning to football and has put the health issues “behind” him.

On Thursday, Okung took part in Chargers’ practice, and said afterward that he is ready to “get back to work” and expects to contribute right away.

“I’ve put a lot into this game,” – Okung added. “And I’m going to trust my abilities and my experience and use that to go out there and help my team win games.”

Russell Okung joined Los Angeles Chargers as a free agent in 2017, signing a four-year, $53 million contract. He played 30 games in the previous two seasons and earned himself a Pro Bowl appearance in 2017; his career second.

Prior to coming to Los Angeles, Okung also played with Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos. With Seahawks, who drafted him into the league with the sixth overall pick in 2010, he won a Super Bowl ring.
