With the final stage of the Champions League playoff phase coming to a close, Greek outfit Olympiakos, along with Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb and Serbian team Red Star Belgrade, is among the first few teams to progress to the final tournament.

Olympiakos were pitted against minnows Krasnodar, who had proven themselves to be a force to be reckoned with after eliminating Portuguese giants FC Porto from the competition. Fortunately for the Greek side, they were able to extinguish the looming threat posed by the Russian underdogs, earning themselves a valuable 2-1 away win after emerging from the first leg with a 4-0 victory.

As for Dinamo Zagreb, they were scheduled to face Norwegian side Rosenborg BK. After a comfortable 2-0 home win in the first leg, the Croatians were able to safeguard their lead by drawing level at 1-1 in the second leg.

Serbian side Red Star Belgrade were pitted against Swiss outfir BSC Young Boys, who last year found themselves in a Champions League group of death alongside Juventus, Manchester United and Valencia. In what was a tight matchup, Red Star Belgrade were able to draw 2-2 away in the first leg. The second leg ended with a 1-1 draw in Switzerland, however, the Serbian side narrowly edged out their opponents on away goals.

The draw for the Champions League group stage takes place on Thursday 29 August.
