Cleveland Cavaliers’ injury report continues to grow at the worst time possible. The latest Cavs player facing a spell on the sidelines is All-Star center Jarrett Allen, who is reportedly dealing with a finger fracture and will be out indefinitely.

Allen was hurt on Sunday night during Cleveland’s 104-96 win over the Toronto Raptors. The talented big-man had six points and two rebounds before exiting the game in the first half due to a quad contusion. However, it was later revealed that he had fractured his finger during the contest as well.

The 23-year-old Allen is now facing further evaluation, after which the Cavs will have a better idea of his downtime.

Jarrett Allen, who joined the Cavs from the Brooklyn Nets last season, was having a career year before going down. He averaged career-high 16.1 points and 10.8 rebounds while adding 1.6 assists and 1.3 blocks per game. Allen made his first All-Star appearance in 2021-22 as well.

The Cavaliers will now have to find ways to minimize the impact of Allen’s injury as they try to climb up on the Eastern Conference standings. One route they could go is giving rookie Evan Mobley more minutes at the center position while inserting veteran Kevin Love in the starting lineup as a power forward. Journeyman Ed Davis could also get more minutes on the floor.
