Carlos Tevez was once more the man that Boca Juniors could count on when they needed it the most. Despite being in and out of the starting 11 for the better part of the season, Tevez shined in the most important game of the season for Boca and helped the Argentinian giants to capture their 34th national league title.

Boca entered the Saturday’s game against Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata on the second spot on the league standings, with one point behind River Plate. While River was coming from behind in their own game against Atletico Tucuman, Boca seemed like they wouldn’t be able to capitalize on their bitter rivals’ mistake. Then came Tevez.

Tevez scored a beautiful 20-yarder in 72nd minute and sent La Bombonera to eruption. River, on the other hand, couldn’t score a goal for the win over Tucuman and could only watch the title slipping through their hands.

Considering Carlos Tevez is already 36 and that his contract is expiring in June, this might have been a perfect ending to a legendary career. Tevez wore Boca’s jersey on three different stints and brought the club a title each time. He has played a total of 204 games with Boca and scored a total of 73 goals.

Tevez previously also played with Manchester United, Manchester City, and Juventus among other teams. He has 76 appearances for Argentina national team as well.
