Cardinals’ WR Larry Fitzgerald is Impressed with Rookie QB Kyler Murray

Arizona Cardinals spent the No.1 overall pick in this year’s draft on Oklahoma’s quarterback Kyler Murray, hoping he will be their franchise cornerstone for the future. It seems like this might turn out to be a good decision, as Murray already impressed some of Cardinals’ veterans and star players.

Cardinals’ Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald recently talked with Kurt Warner on NFL Network and didn’t hesitate to express his admiration for the rookie QB. According to Fitzgerald, Murray took command of Cardinals’ offense from Day 1 and is already proving himself worthy of a top pick.

“I’ve never seen a quarterback come in so quickly and be able to command an offense,” – Fitzgerald told Warner. “I mean, from Day 1, he’s out there checking the different plays, sliding the line, different protections, getting us in screens when blitzes are coming. His understanding of the offense is crazy. I mean, from Day One. I think that’s going to give us a great advantage, to play fast from the first preseason game all the way to the start of the regular season and giving him the keys to the car and letting him is going to be great for us.”

While this is some exciting news for Arizona Cardinals’ fans, Fitzgerald’s words could easily bring in extra pressure on Murray. While no one expects Cardinals to be contenders next year, Murray is expected to light the league on fire in his rookie season and show that Arizona didn’t make a mistake drafting him with such a high pick.

There is no doubt that Murray is a talented QB, but there are doubts about his size and height, and how will his game translate from college to the pros. It remains to be seen whether he will prove his doubters wrong and turn around Cardinals’ bad luck.
