Arizona has been able to come to a deal with veteran wide receiver Michael Crabtree, more than two weeks after they tried him out during training camp, but couldn’t reach a deal the first time around. Reportedly, Crabtree received an offer but it wasn’t the kind of money he was expecting. This time they were able to reach a deal both sides were happy with, although the financial side has not been publicized yet.

Crabtree brings a veteran presence to a young Arizona team. He is turning 32 next month and will help lead a core of young receivers, along with Larry Fitzgerald, the longtime face of the franchise. Crabtree will be entering his 11th season, while Fitzgerald will be starting his 16th.

The signing came a few days after the news of receiver Hakeem Butler’s possible season-ending injury and definitely played a role in the Cardinals being more aggressive in signing Crabtree.

In addition, the Cardinals released receiver Kevin White, a player with a lot of potential, but injury problems have forced him to miss significant playing time. White played only 14 games in 4 seasons with the Chicago Bears due to a fractured leg in ’15 and ’16 and a left shoulder injury in ’17. He was signed to a one year deal with the Cardinals but was released after another hamstring injury during training camp.
