Arizona Cardinals and right back Kenyan Drake still hasn’t agreed to a contract extension, and according to reports, they are currently not close to making a deal. Drake, however, doesn’t appear like he’s bothered with the situation.

Drake recently went on Twitter to comment on his extension talks with Cardinals and said that he isn’t “too concerned” about signing one. Instead, Drake is focused on “getting in the best shape of my life” and wants to help Arizona play “winning football.”

Drake was set to become a free agent in March, but Cardinals decided to place a transition tag on the 26-year-old right back in order to keep him with the organization for at least one more season. The two sides now have until July 22nd to negotiate a long term deal.

If he doesn’t manage to get a deal done with Cardinals by then, Drake will play under $8.48 million tag this season. He would then hit the free market in 2021.

Arizona acquired Kenyan Drake from Miami Dolphins midway through the 2019 season for a conditional sixth-round pick. Despite his late arrival, Drake impressed last season, rushing for 643 yards and eight touchdowns in just eight games.

During his three and a half years in Miami, Drake had 1,532 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. He also added 116 receptions for 936 yards and six TDs.
