Pitcher Adam Wainwright will still be a one-team man; at least through the 2020 MLB season. St. Louis Cardinals announced on Tuesday that they have agreed to a one-year deal with Wainwright, keeping him on the roster for the next season. The team didn’t disclose the financial terms of the deal.

Wainwright had his best season in years in 2019, ending the regular season with 14-10 record while also adding 4.19 ERA and 153 strikeouts. The 38-year-old right-hander was also good in the postseason, having 19 strikeouts and posting 1.62 ERA in two starts.

After his five-year, $97.5 million contract expired following the end of the 2017 MLB season, Wainwright signed a one-year, $2 million deal with the Cardinals for 2019. However, since he met several bonuses, he ended up earning more than $10 million overall.

Adam Wainwright made his MLB debut with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2005, and since then has helped Cardinals win two World Series. Wainwright made the All-Star team three times while winning Gold Glove Awards during his time in the league.

Wainwright’s MLB career stats include 162–95 record, 3.39 ERA and 1,776 strikeouts.
