Cardinals Add Veteran Corner De’Vante Bausby

The Arizona Cardinals acquired themselves some corner depth on Friday, with the team confirming the acquisition of veteran De’Vante Bausby.

Bausby comes to Arizona after starting the season on Denver Broncos’ roster. He played in four games, contributing with five tackles and having three passes defended.

The 27-year-old corner has been on the free market for less than a week, having been released by Broncos on October 24th.

The Cardinals confirmed the move on their official social media accounts.

Bausby is expected to serve as a depth piece on the Cardinals’ roster, considering the team’s cornerback core has been injury-prone in 2020. He will join the CB room that also has Patrick Peterson, Dre Kirkpatrick, Byron Murphy, and Kevin Peterson. Arizona also has veteran Prince Amukamara waiting for his shot on the practice squad.

De’Vante Bausby entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh State in 2015. He suited up for Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, and Broncos since then, accumulating 19 appearances (three starts) in which he totaled six pass deflections and 44 tackles.

Bausby also spent time with Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad and playing for San Antonio Commanders in the now-defunct American Alliance of Football.
