WNBA legend Candace Parker is not sure whether she wants to return to the court for another season. Parker revealed that she is yet to determine her basketball future in an interview with The Associated Press.

According to Parker, the biggest factor in her decision will be her health and whether she can fully recover from a foot injury that sidelined her for the better part of the 2023 WNBA season.

“I’ll weigh my options. If I feel really, really good, then I’ll play,” Parker said. “That’s a big if. I’ve got to get my foot right. My foot was really bad last year. I don’t want to cheat the game or cheat myself.”

Parker played in only 18 games last season, averaging a career-low 9.0 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. There is no doubt that the 37-year-old player would like to wrap up her basketball career on a better note, but she will not force it.

“If I’m healthy, I’m gonna play,” Parker said during her appearance on Good Morning America.” “But I’m not gonna play in pain anymore.”

Candace Parker already secured her place among the basketball greats. During her 16 years in the WNBA, she earned seven WNBA All-Star nods, was named WNBA MVP twice, and won three WNBA titles.

I am a reality TV junkie. My dream since I was a kid was to be on Big Brother, but until then you can catch me binge-watching episodes each summer.
