The British Premier League club Chelsea continues to sign current players with new contracts under the leadership of their new manager Frank Lampard in an effort to secure a stable team for next season.

The latest news from the club officially confirms that Chelsea has secured yet another player – the young winger Callum Hudson Odoi.

The 18-year-old Odoi signed a new five-year deal with his current club and the new contract will bring him a weekly paycheck of around $124,000.

The Bundesliga club Bayern Munich tried to sign the winger, making a $43 million offer which was eventually turned down by Chelsea. Afterward, Odoi handed a transfer request to the management.

Odoi has been out of the field since April when he suffered an Achilles tendon injury. According to some sources, he might recover just in time to join his team at the start of next season.

The club’s manager Lampard had previously stated that the youngster can be a huge player for Chelsea and that with his talent he can be central to the club and England. Odoi is a shining example of the Chelsea academy because he has been part of the team since he was seven years old, having played for both the youth and the senior teams.
