The Chicago Bulls forward Torrey Craig is expected to be sidelined from eight to 10 weeks after he suffered an acute sprain of his right plantar fascia, the team confirmed on Tuesday. Craig was injured during the second quarter of the Bulls’ 118-116 loss to the Miami Heat on Saturday.

Craig subsequently sat out of the Bulls’ 104-108 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night, after which he underwent an MRI on Tuesday once the team was back in Chicago. The forward, who also happened to turn 33 years old on Tuesday, has averaged 6.1 points and 4.8 rebounds on 42% shooting (38% from 3) in 21.2 minutes this season.

The forward’s injury recovery plan includes a four-week immobilization period followed by four to six weeks of rehabilitation. Despite also being without All-Star guard Zach LaVine, the Bulls have managed to build some impressive form this season, winning six of their past nine games. Currently, the Bulls are 12th in the Eastern Conference standings at 11-17.
