The Chicago Bulls All-Star guard Zach LaVine recently gave an update about his recovery from a season-ending ankle surgery he had in early February. According to LaVine, he’s making good progress and is even “a little bit ahead of schedule”.

LaVine shared the update on Saturday while speaking with the reporters for the first time he had the surgery. According to LaVine, he’s feeling “really good” and that he will get the boot taken off in three weeks.

“I think the recovery was three, four months, [and] I’m a little bit ahead of schedule right now, so let’s just hope it stays that way,” he added.

Zach LaVine dealt with a number of injuries in 2023-24, missing stretches due to foot and shoulder issues before his ankle surgery. He managed to play just 25 games this season, averaging 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists. His points average was his lowest since the 2017-18 campaign.

When LaVine returns to court next season, it might not be in the Bulls jersey. He and the Bulls agreed to look for potential trade earlier in the season, and it is expected that he will be on the market once again when he recovers. LaVine signed a five-year, $215.16 million deal with the Bulls in 2022, with the deal including a player option for 2026-27.
