The Cleveland Browns have signed running back Kareem Hunt to a new, two-year contract. Hunt will receive $13.25 million over a two-year period, including $8.5 million guaranteed.

It might not seem like much for a premier running back, but it’s important to remember that Hunt is not the Browns’ main runner. That would be Nick Chubb.

Also, the Browns might not want to commit too much money to Hunt, considering the fact that he was recently suspended when a video was released of him beating a woman in a Cleveland hotel. Hunt was released by the Kansas City Chiefs because of the incident, after which the Browns claimed him.

Even though Hunt had to miss eight games while serving a suspension for the aforementioned incident, he was still able to be very productive while on the field.

In the eight games that he appeared in, Hunt ran for 464 yards and scored three touchdowns. He is also a real threat catching passes out of the backfield, making him the perfect partner to compliment Chubb’s power-running style.

Hunt was third on the team in receiving last year with 37 receptions and 285 receiving yards.
