The Denver Broncos resumed their busy offseason on Saturday by agreeing to trade wideout Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns. Reportedly, the Browns gave up a fifth-rounder and a sixth-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft to get Jeudy.

Jeudy is just one of several veteran players that the Broncos moved on from this week. They informed quarterback Russell Wilson that he will be released after the new league year starts while also moving on from All-Pro safety Justin Simmons and tight end Chris Manhertz.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Broncos cleared around $50 million in salary cap space with their recent moves.

Jerry Jeudy entered the league as the Broncos’ 15th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. After starting his pro career slower than expected, Jeudy had a promising season in 2022, when he made 67 catches for 972 yards and six touchdowns. However, he failed to build on it in 2023, finishing the campaign with 54 receptions for 758 yards and only two TDs.

Jeudy is still considered a player with a high upside, which is probably why the Browns jumped on the opportunity to acquire him. He is expected to challenge for the role of No. 2 wideout in Cleveland behind Pro Bowler Amari Cooper.
