Left-handed reliever Lucas Luetge is set to join the Atlanta Braves from the New York Yankees. The deal, which was concluded on Wednesday night, will see the Braves send two minor league players to New York. These are right-hander Indigo Diaz and infielder Caleb Durbin.

Standing at 6-foot-5, Luetge was drafted n the 21st round of the 2008 draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. He only made his major league debut in 2012 when he played for the Seattle Mariners.

Now 35 years of age, Luetge posted ERAs under 3.00 while pitching in over 50 games for the Yankees over the past two seasons. In 57⅓ innings, Luetge made 60 strikeouts and was 4-4 with a 2.67 ERA and two saves in 2022. In 2021, the veteran was 4-2 with a 2.74 ERA and one save.

The 24-year-old Diaz was 3-4 with a 3.08 ERA and four saves in 49 games with Double-A Mississippi last season. He was designated for assignment by the Braves in order to make room on their 40-man roster. The 22-year-old Durbin hit .241 in a combined 105 games for the Braves Class A teams in August and Rome last season.

Ben loves sports so much but prefers watching other people do it. He prefers not to share what teams he's supporting but he is willing to admit that Lebron James is, in fact, the king.
