A new player will be joining the ranks of French club Paris Saint Germain to reinforce their lines. The young Abdou Diallo will be joining the team with a contract worth $35.8 million. This comes as a surprise as he was part of Borussia Dortmund’s team for only a year being acquired in a deal worth $31.3 million from Mainz back in 2018.
Ruhr Nachrichten asked the sporting director of Dortmund, Michael Zorc, if Diallo was leaving and he replied that that is what has happened and that Abdou decided that he wanted to take another challenge, so since that was a good fit for them, they agreed to the change.
The French defender is only 23 years old and he started his professional career playing in Monaco where he stayed from 2014 until 2017 when he was acquired by Mainz 05. Since the start of his career, Diallo has made 116 appearances in total, managing to score a total of 7 goals.
Diallo is coming in a pretty important time since the French club needs reinforcements so they can fulfill their ambitious plans for next season. Also, his arrival will help with the possible departure of Thiago Silva in the future.
