Manchester United’s pursuit of England international starlet Jadon Sancho has suffered a tough blow this week. According to Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc, the club is planning to have Sancho on their roster in 2020/21.

Man Utd has been linked with Sancho for some time now, and have reportedly made a strong push in recent weeks to sign the 20-year-old winger. Borussia was willing to sell the player for the right price and told the Premier League side that they could have Sancho if they agree to pay $140 million until August 10th.

However, United refused to meet Borussia’s demands, and now the German club is operating under the assumption that the talks won’t resume.

“We plan on having Jadon Sancho in our team this season, the decision is final,” said Zorc during a conference at Dortmund’s pre-season training camp. “I think that answers all our questions.”

Zorc also revealed that Sancho, who came to Germany from Manchester City, has a contract that runs until the summer of 2023. It was previously believed that he has a deal until 2022.

“Last summer we adjusted Jadon’s salary to match the development of his performances,” he added. “So in context, we had already extended his contract until 2023 back then.”

Jadon Sancho had a stellar Bundesliga campaign in 2019/20, scoring 17 goals and 16 assists in 32 games. He also added three goals and four assists in other competitions.
