Borussia Dortmund are already preparing for a future without their highly-rated striker Erling Haaland. According to a recent report from SPORT1, the Bundesliga powerhouse is already making a list of potential replacements for Haaland and has Manchester United’s Anthony Martial as one of their top targets.

Haaland established himself as one of the best strikers in the world in recent years and has been courted by a number of big European clubs, including Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Manchester City, among others. Borussia would like to keep the 21-year-old star but is facing an uphill battle as the player has a release clause that kicks in the summer.

In their attempts to make a backup plan in case of Haaland’s exit, the German club reportedly has 30 scouts working on identifying an attacker that could step in instead of the Norwegian.

Martial is considered available for the right price, presumed to be around $60 million, as the 25-year-old hasn’t been an example of consistency since arriving at Old Trafford. The French forward had flashes of elite talent, including a 2019/20 campaign that saw him score 17 goals and add six assists but struggled to be impactful in other instances.

With the return of Cristiano Ronaldo and the arrival of Jadon Sancho this summer, Martial is expected to see his playing time diminished, and Manchester United would be open to cash in on him sooner than later. The 24-year-old star made six appearances this season and is yet to score a goal.

Gunner's favorite movies are Pulp Fiction, Iron Man (just the first one), and every James Bond film ever made. He's learning TV and cinema and hoping to always enjoy movies as he does now.
