Placekicker and punter Kaare Vedvik is on the free market once again. Buffalo Bills announced on Wednesday that they released Vedvik while signing veteran punter Lachlan Edwards in a corresponding move.

Vedvik joined the Bills in January on a reserve/futures contract but failed to impress Buffalo’s coaching staff enough to keep his job.

Edwards, on the other hand, comes with an NFL punting yards leader credentials from 2019. He spent the previous four years with the New York Jets.

The release from the Bills presents the latest development in an eventful career that Kaare Vedvik had in the NFL so far. Vedvik first entered the league in 2018, signing as an undrafted free agent with Baltimore Ravens.

After failing to make a single appearance in his rookie year, Vedvik impressed in the 2019 preseason, which led Minnesota Vikings to trade a fifth-round pick for him. Despite paying such a steep price for him, Vikings cut him even before the season started, being unsatisfied with his performances.

His next destination was the New York Jets, but he only lasted one game there and was released after missing an extra point and a field goal from 45 yards in Week 1. After that, Vedvik spent time on Cincinnati Bengal’s practice squad, but the team opted against extending his deal.
