Veteran offensive tackle Cody Glenn will most likely start the 2020 NFL season with another team. According to ESPN’s Jenna Laine, Bengals are determined to move on from Glenn and are looking for trading partners for the player. Laine adds that the team will release the 30-year-old if they can’t come up with a trade.

Glenn was close to leaving Cincinnati last season, having asked for a release after he lost his place on the team.  He played only six games in 2019, starting five of them.

Glenn is currently approaching the final year of his deal, which pays him $7.5 million annually. This is why releasing him without getting anything in return presents an acceptable solution.

Cordy Glenn, who was the second-round pick in 2012, joined Cincinnati Bengals in 2018 from Buffalo Bills. Bengals sent their 12th overall pick and a 2018 sixth-round pick to Buffalo, getting Glenn alongside 21st overall pick and a 2018 fifth-round pick.

Glenn played 13 games in his first year in Cincinnati and was on the field for 77 percent of snaps. However, he followed that up with just 27 percent of the snaps in 2019, while splitting his rare time on the field between left tackle and right guard.
